My Rng/monk build for PvP-

Mark---12
Exp---12
Wild--8
Bst--6

Skills:

Barrage
Distracting Shot
Tiger's Fury
Apply Poisen
Barb Trap
Flame Trap
Healing Spring
Restore Life

Rangers are seriously underrated in Tombs, and any winning team will have one on their team. Running on top of the dais to get your Ghostly Hero up there in the middle of a fight and laying down Barb and Flame back to back is immensly painful, then back off and Barrage, a fun 15 seconds.

Good! I'm not the only one then. My first creation was a War/Ele (Axe/Fire) and have ascended already and beyond. Love him and enjoying all that I'm doing and exploring.

Metal ~ I currently have a low level N/Mo that hasn't even started the story lines yet because I am still trying to find the Necro trainer outside of Ascalon to get a few more sweet skills to work on before I move on. Glad to be considered a RARE build. My monk uses healing prayers and I'm still *ga ga* over what exactly to use in my Necro's specialties.

Since we're special... where is our own personal little corner to talk things over at?

I'm new to this genre and really didn't have any idea what I was doing when I created my build. I started out as a Mesmer and then added Warrior as a second profession. So far I have been able to advanced to level 13 and am currently in Yak's Bend. I'm not sure whether it's because of this build or my tactics or a combination of both that has allowed me to advance this far. I know many of you won't consider that I am very far advanced, game-wise, but for me I'm extremely happy with my sucesses.

Mawgleah ~ I dare not judge but dare to play!

You dared and hopefully having the time of your toon's life! Thats all there is to it and ya can't ask for more! Keep up the good work. Its obviously a good build if you've been able to get as far as you are... Keep building and adding to your toon! You're bound for glory in the not so far future.

Straight Ranger builld?

I'm doing a ranger/el but found I'm not using ANY elemental. I gotta admit I find this weird. I've played mmorpgs for 6 years and never liked any pet class I ever played. In fact, I always found pets to be horrible nuisances. Yet with doing nothing but ranger skills I'm doing really well, and my pet is like a never ending DoT. He rarely dies. Granted I'm only 10th level and just made Nolani Academy and the only grouping I'm doing is with my husband's wa/mo and a hired monk. That's it, just the hubby's wa/mo, my ranger, a monk henchman and Fluffy and we're doing great.

Thank goodness for that. If more people figured out the ass-kickery possibilities of our class Guild Wars would be in trouble.

My highest level character at the moment is a N/Mo. I was concertrating in Death magic and Healing, but it's tough. You need to many dead bodies to get going. I have since switched to Curses/Healing. Now I'm thinking about dropping healing all together and go protection. Still playing around with that build. Recently started a new R/Wa build, and just got out of pre-searing. Having to much fun at the moment with frenzy, read the wind, ignite arrows and dual shot......Been soloing with her and she's really punishing MOB's. Going to give her some axe skills later, should be enjoyable to play.

W/Mo way overplayed, people've no imagination.

Necros and Mesmers are the most uncommon classes as a whole me thinks. I see a lot of N/E, a lot of N/W, and a fair amount of N/Me.

I right now am playing a Necro/Mesmer, specializing in death magic with my only mesmer attribute being inspiration magic. Soul Reaping, Death Magic, and Inspiration magic baby, loads of energy comin' in and loads of fun to play.

I don't know of many death magic necromancers. There are some, but well lets put it this way, I've only 3 times partied with a necro among my three characters, and none specialized in death magic.

Which I guess is a good thing, too many death necros is bad for a party...real bad, since there might not be enough corpses to go around. I don't know about you guys, but I can manipulate the hell out of every corpse on the field, and when I've no corpses to use, inspired hex, rotten flesh, and deathly chill/swarm do what I need damage-wise. (Inspired hex to gain a hex I wouldn't have normally, you get the idea) Good for PvE, only fair in PvP depending on how you choose to play it, but fun IMO.

W/Mo most common...Rangers and Warriors most common classes in the game.

Most under-rated build right now is anything with a ranger as primary. hands down.

I'd say with the amount of rangers out there, it seems pretty easy to label them underpowered, when mostly they're just second best at just about everything which makes them quite good.

Personally, I'd say mesmer is the most underrated class if playing with mostly mesmer skills. You don't actually get to see the damage you deal with empathy/backfire, etc (only know its working) and most people don't even realize the monster is hexed except for a small little arrow. Heck, I know I've gotten yelled at for things not happening in a group.

I am a W/ME lvl 15 atm, i focus on sword/domination/tactics and it works out pretty well, allthought my class combi is very uncommon i am doing very fine in pvp (if the group following some simple strategies). Downside on my build is i am doing not enough direct dmg.... but since the Me's interrupt abillity (power spike, powerblock...) in combination with empathie, backfire, and shatter hex and blackout .... i can take out all kind of casters pretty fast.

I have a level 12 N/Mo that I use, and I find that I either use one or the other when it comes to skills. I find that I don't have the energy capacity, at least yet, to use effective necro skills and monk skills combined, so I'm either a straight up necro or, in hard missions, an extra healer.

I didn't see a single other N/ME all the way until Kryta - where when I loaded in I found myself next two two N/Me a N/W and a N/E *pout*

My other characters are a W/Me (Str/Axes/Domination) and a R/E (Marksmanship/Expertise/Air) and a E/N (too young to have developed stats!).

I'd agree that as a primary Mesmer is the one I see least, and Warrior most.
Secondaries Monk or Elementalist are most common from my experiences.

As far as I can tell I think ranger and mesmer are the most under rated jobs or jobs not used as often. I see many people with them as a main job or second job but I do not see them using the skills.

IMO I don't really care for the Mesmer skills so I will probably never make one as a main job. Ranger is something I may do in the future but I have other options I want to do first.

Mo/W or E/Mo for energy storage

Healing
Smiting
Protection + (Energy Storage or other depending if I pick warrior)

I am doing Me/N and enjoy the build so far. I am only level 9 though so the tough part has yet to come.

The other builds I am considering are E/Me and Me/R

Skills:

Illusionary Weaponry
Illusion of Weakness
Healing Signet
Rez Signet
Shield Stance

Basically just an Illusionary Warrior build, but not as a Mesmer main. Therefore I can still take the hits, deal the damage, etc. The only downside to this is a lack of energy, but if you play your cards correct you'll have no problems at all.

With this build I can put any W/Mo to shame, hands down.

All that is awesome just consider using one of the energy drain spells to give you a better energy flow

Default Strange....

Greetings,

First time poster here.

Anyway, I ind it strange that anyone would think that N/Mo is a rare combo. It may be in PvP, but I see them often in PvE, perhaps that is because I play one myself, but I do see a lot of them.

My observations, at level 14 at least, is that spec in death magic / healing with blood and heal taking up the remaining points is a walkig PvE slaughterfest. It is not uncommon for me to look for groups of 4 - 6 mobs and simply wade into them animating as they drop. My record so far was 12 level 9 Bone Horrors running around with my 4 henchmen. Though this morning, I had 8 level 12 Bone Horrors, was quite horrible to watch.

I can see why people say they are extremely week in PvP due to the lack of corpses, but I would think that the combination of blood and death magic would give me more than enough damage to create corpses, and remember, I only need 1 to create a chain reaction.

Finally, I have had one go at PvP so far with this character at level 9. My opponent was a level 8 W/R and I dropped him with 3 fast casting spells, used his corpse to take out his 3 henchmen.

I changed from War/nec to war/ele and now i'm a war/mo. I hate paladins, but the monk line is way too useful to overlook. Protective Spirit for Underworld and Shield of Judgement for PVP. Don't use anything else really except maybe rebirth for pve.

Shield of Judgement is an excellent skill to combine with my hammer war and his aoe hammer blind

I've been making anti-paladin builds since release day and its ironic that a war/mo combo would be the best at taking them out. Scourge Healing ain't so bad either....stupid long casting time though.
